Description
Schoolhouse lights, with their creamy milk-glass shades, were ubiquitous in institutional buildings like libraries, courthouses, hospitals, and of course schools from the 1920s straight through to the 60s. Because they spanned such a vast era, they were made in a countless number of styles, from the iconic traditional shades to some stunning deco designs. They’re now a favourite in home kitchens and hallways as well as restaurants and loft spaces. I always have a great selection of schoolhouse lights in tons of sizes, styles and finishes.
The Gosford Schoolhouse Mid-Century Opal Glass Lampshade will be terrific in your vintage décor. Match it with a vintage pendant fixture that you found and salvaged, or one of many available on my website.
This particular one is made in the USA with durable heavy glass that is made to last a lifetime, or until it slips from your hands while replacing the lightbulb 😉

* Note that the raw metal finishes (Brass, Bronze, Copper and Steel) will change in appearance over time. This is not a manufacturing defect, it is the normal patina of a metal with the effects of time. (You can revive it after a few years with any metal polish though.)
* Due to the characteristics of the materials used, please expect minor cosmetic imperfections. As for example, the metal used may have tiny scratches or irregularities. This is a normal result of the artisanal process and is included for free!
